Over the last week there has been a call for Jonathan Pollard, an Israeli spy held in the United States for the last 26 years, to be released due to his ailing health. It is understandable that those closest to him would want to see him released however Pollard has become a cause celebre for the right-wingers in Israel and American Jewry and has been compared to the recently released Gilad Shalit.
