Francisco Domenech was born in April 1978 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He would spend most of his childhood in Florida as a student of Blessed Trinity Catholic School before taking his Bachelor in Arts and then his Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico. During his education at the university, Francisco Domenech would serve many roles that included one of student body president and be part of the Academic Senate of the university in the capacity of an Academic Senator. He would get a chance to spend a term in London which allowed him to broaden his horizons as well as take several courses on comparative law. Follow Domenech on Twitter.
Francisco Domenech would become the president of the Puerto Rico Young Democrats, he would lead a team of 14 members of the PRYD in campaigning for the Kerry/Edwards ticket in Florida. His effort and dedication to the democratic party would be rewarded with him being invited as a delegate of the Democratic Convention for four consecutive times, in 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016. Francisco would be vital in the campaign trail with Hilary Clinton heavily relying on him to give her a comfortable win in the Democratic Primaries of Puerto Rico in 2008 against the then-Senator Barack Obama and then again in 2016 Democratic Primary win over Sen. Bernie Sanders. He wasn’t just a campaigner in 2016, with Francisco Domenech pulling in the most funding for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. He was such a vital part of her team that he was the one who organized her campaign tour in Puerto Rico and at one time, even shared a Puerto Rican beer with President Bill Clinton.
Francisco Domenech has always put Puerto Rico first, his work as the Director of The Office of The Legislative Services of The Puerto Rican Legislative Assembly helped streamline the office that employs more than 130 people and ran it in a budget of only $11 Million, managing to come under the budget every year he was in charge.
He has always been for the inclusion of Puerto Rico as the 51st state of the United States and has never doubted the region’s potential and was quite rightly the leading vote receiver in the 2016 class of ’40 under 40′ by Carribean Business.
