Dr. Mark Mckenna is currently holding the title of being a great entrepreneur who is a doctor by training. Sometimes discovering one’s passion does not take an overnight. Surprisingly, he has a wide range of passions in life. They range from real estate, medicine, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Mark Mckenna has knitted the three areas to build a project out of passion called OVME.
Talk of OVME and it will come out that this a renowned retail aesthetics firm that links individuals with qualified healthcare providers using technology. Dr. Mckenna brings his passion for entrepreneurship and medicine at least to come up with something that will benefit the common customer in relation to healthcare provisions. Going to a little history, Dr. Mark McKenna’s venture in the medical technology was out of the father’s inspiration. Dr. Mark Mckenna did his medical studies at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans. In as much as currently he works and lives in Atlanta, he is strongly affiliated to the New Orleans community where he was for studies.
Previously along his career path, Dr. Mckenna at one point started a real estate business that was known as McKenna Venture Investments. He focused on building this real estate firm with a lot of energy. The company was able to thrive greatly through in the end the sustainability was a great challenge after the Hurricane Katrina. He then went back to his medical roots and pursued something different from real estate. He realized at that time that there were a number of opportunities in the market in the area of medicine. With a lot of optimism, Dr. Mark Mckenna focused on changing the demands and expanding technology. After leaving the real estate business, Dr. Mckenna wanted to venture into something that would have a model of identifying the preferences of consumers and the technology. As a result, he looked up to companies that excelled in that area like the Uber and Bloomberg. Dr. McKenna brought similar concepts into a project. In the process of this, OVME was birthed.
Dr. Saad Saad may have retired from practice, but his achievements as a pediatric surgeon live. He spent over 40 years in the medical industry perfuming simple and complex pediatric surgical operations. In his time in the industry, he has performed numerous surgical operation for children and young adults from different parts of the globe.
Although he is a certified pediatric surgeon in the United States, he has offered services in other parts, especially in the Middle East. In the 1980s, he was working with the Saudi Royal Family who had hired him as a personal pediatric surgeon. He was working at the King Faisal Hospital which treats patients from royal families in the Middle East. However, it opens doors to poor people who have complex illnesses. He Served for four and half years in Riyadh and then went back to New Jersey to continue with his profession. The reason he landed this job was that he could speak in both English and Arabic on top of being a certified pediatric surgeon.
Dr. Saad Saad participated in medical missions in the United States and outside the country. In his career, he participated in 8 medical missions in West Bank and Jerusalem where he offered free pediatric surgical operations to poor people free of charge. Dr. Saad Saad was born in Palestine but moved to the United States as a refugee. One of the things he is proud of as a surgeon is that he assisted hundreds of poor people to get medical solutions. Having been born in a humble family, he recognizes what it means to be poor and be in need.
Dr. Sad Saad spent his entire career looking for the best medical solutions for patients. When he was practicing, one of his concerns was making the surgical operations safe for his patients. He wanted to reduce risk and pain in all his operations. To achieve this goal, he had to come up with better methods of performing surgical operations as well as innovating new devices which would make surgical procedures easy for practitioners.
Dr. Saad Saad has two innovations to his name. The first innovation involved the creation of a device that could trace the position of the catheter in the body. A catheter is a vital tool that can be inserted in the body of a patient temporary or permanently. Top know its position in the body, it needs to be traced. Traditionally, an MRI machine or x-ray was used to track it, but this is no longer the case after the device developed by Dr. Saad Saad.
The other innovation is one involved improvement of an optical tool known as an endoscope. This tool is inserted into the body when doctors want to investigate something. Dr. Sameer Jejurikar is a cosmetic surgeon and reconstructive surgeon who received his training at the University of Michigan Medical Center. His fellowship was completed at the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. After this he moved to Dallas, Texas, and now practices at the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute which has offices in both Dallas and Plano. He performs plastic surgery on the full body including the face, breast, buttock, and other areas. In order to achieve the look his patients are after he uses exacting care while performing surgery whether this is surgical or noninvasive such as laser hair removal.
As a philanthropist, Dr. Sameer Jejurikar is also highly interested in donating his surgical skills to those in need. Due to this he has volunteered his time and expertise to Smile Bangladesh. This is a nonprofit organization, headquartered in New Jersey, that send skilled doctors like him to Bangladesh as well as Sri Lanka in order to treat children’s cleft lip deformations. This nonprofit was established in 2010 and has so far sent more than 20 missions. He will be going to Khulna, Bangladesh on a mission on March 10, 2018, where he will treat many children that come from impoverished families free of charge.
Dr. Sameer Jejurikar has won several awards during his career. These include the Patients’ Choice 5th Anniversary Awards and an award from Vitals for the On-Time Doctor Award. Additionally, a number of times he has earned the Patients’ Choice Compassionate Doctor certificate.
He is also a researcher. Dr. Sameer Jejurikar’s work has been published in many journals such as the Journal of Surgical Research, Microsurgery, and the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He is also a member of a number of professional organizations such as the Dallas Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.
